With Get first formant from the Formant menu in the SoundEditor or TextGridEditor, you get information about the first formant at the cursor or in the selection. If there is a cursor, Get first formant writes to the Info window the linearly interpolated first formant at that time. If there is a true selection, Get first formant writes to the Info window the mean first formant in the visble part of that selection. The same goes for Get second formant and so on.
